A Girl Named Georges
Cecilia “CC” Doan is a native Portlander of Vietnamese heritage. Her dual upbringing has helped her to continually fuse disparate ideas and views into new ways of living and perceiving the world. As an entrepreneurial hobbyist and creative professional, her work spans brand marketing and strategy, illustration, fashion, events and more.
A GIRL NAMED GEORGES aka Georges (French pronunciation) was founded by Doan in 2015 and is a women’s streetwear label positioned as “For the ones with good taste and bad habits.” The brand and debut collection draws inspiration from the DIY spirit, grit, and aesthetic of the 1970s.
Doan also founded SHIT BLOGGERS WEAR, an internationally-recognized satirical fashion blog that illustrates the correlation between trends and social influence. Her work has been commissioned by Topshop, The Coveteur, GrandLife Hotels, Complex, and featured in Elle, Glamour, Buzzfeed, Refinery29, etc. Doan is also currently brand and communications lead for independent digital creative agency INSTRUMENT in Portland. She’s provided strategy and creative production for brands Nike, Google, and Red Bull among others.
She can be spotted cruising in an ’84 Mercedes convertible the color of Miracle Whip.
